Report Abuse
Hearo is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community. If you encounter any abusive, harmful, or inappropriate content or behavior, we encourage you to report it immediately. Our safety team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.
1. What Can You Report?
You can report the following types of violations:
- Harassment or Bullying: Targeted attacks, threats, or intimidation
- Hate Speech: Content promoting discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Sexual Content: Inappropriate sexual material or solicitation
- Violence or Threats: Content promoting violence or containing threats
- Spam: Repetitive, unsolicited messages or promotional content
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting identity
- Scams or Fraud: Attempts to deceive or defraud users
- Copyright Infringement: Unauthorized use of copyrighted material
- Other Violations: Any other behavior violating our community guidelines
2. How to Report Abuse
Reporting abuse is easy and can be done in several ways:
In-App Reporting
- Click the report button on the user's profile or message
- Select the reason for your report
- Provide additional details if needed
- Submit your report
Email Reporting
Send detailed reports to: report@hearo.com
Include the following information:
- Username of the person being reported
- Description of the violation
- Screenshots or links to the content
- Date and time of the incident
- Your contact information
3. What Happens After You Report
When you submit a report, here's what happens:
- Initial Review: Our safety team reviews your report within 24 hours
- Investigation: We investigate the reported behavior or content
- Action: If a violation is confirmed, we take appropriate action
- Notification: We may notify you of actions taken (subject to privacy considerations)
- Appeal: Users can appeal moderation decisions
4. Possible Actions
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a warning
- Content Removal: Violating content is removed from the platform
- Temporary Suspension: Account access is restricted for a period of time
- Permanent Ban: Serious or repeated violations result in permanent removal
- Law Enforcement Referral: Illegal activity is reported to authorities
5. False Reports
We take all reports seriously, but we also recognize that false reports can harm innocent users. Submitting false reports may result in action against your account, including suspension or permanent ban.
6. Protecting Yourself
While we work to keep Hearo safe, you can also take steps to protect yourself:
- Use strong, unique passwords
- Don't share personal information with strangers
- Block users who make you uncomfortable
- Report suspicious behavior immediately
- Review your privacy settings regularly
- Be cautious of links from unknown users
